Columbia Graduate School of Arts and Sciences的MA in Mathematics with a Specialization in the Mathematics of Finance由Mathematics与Statistics两个系共同支持。项目把随机过程、数值方法、统计、计算和现代金融应用结合，面向quantitative portfolio management、trading、risk、derivatives modeling、structuring及相关定量金融领域。
培养强调严谨理论与前沿应用的平衡。核心从金融数学、数值方法、统计推断、时间序列和随机过程出发，逐步进入证券市场定价、风险、衍生品、投资和交易。每学期Practitioners’ Seminar邀请金融行业专家讨论研究、mini-course和开放问题；选修可在Mathematics、Statistics、Computer Science、Economics、IEOR、Business School和SIPA等范围内组合。
学位至少30 credits，所有计入学位的课程必须线下面授并采用letter grade，累计GPA至少3.0。必修为MATH 5010 Introduction to the Mathematics of Finance、MATH 5030 Numerical Methods in Finance、至少一门MATH 5050/5051 Practitioners’ Seminar、STAT 5263 Statistical Inference/Time-Series Modeling、STAT 5264 Stochastic Processes–Applications I及STAT 5265 Stochastic Methods in Finance；其余以获批4000-level以上金融相关选修补足30 credits。全日制常见两学期或三学期，非全日制最长四年。
项目欢迎数学、统计、物理、经济、计算机或工程等定量背景，很多学生同时拥有金融工作或实习经历。GSAS申请包括每所院校一份成绩单、Statement of Academic Purpose、Personal Statement、resume/CV和三封推荐信，其中至少两封为学术推荐；可提交最多四封。项目不要求writing sample，不能defer admission。2027申请费125美元。
GSAS英语最低要求为：2026年1月21日前TOEFL iBT 100，之后新制5.5；IELTS Academic 7.5，DET 135；TOEFL代码2162、department 99。GRE General不强制，但项目强烈建议提交GRE或GMAT且偏好GRE，因此归类为Optional而不是Not required。申请审理使用unofficial transcripts且不强制第三方认证；在美国境外就读并接受录取者之后才须通过获批机构完成course-by-course evaluation，故申请阶段仍归类为Not required。
Spring 2027截止为2026年10月29日。Fall 2027 early deadline为2027年1月5日，final deadline为2027年4月8日；仍在读本科或预计在2026年12月1日后完成本科者被强烈建议使用early deadline。全日制两或三学期完成，part-time最长八学期；三学期路径常用于留出实习或求职时间。
课程直接面向quantitative trading、portfolio management、risk management、derivatives pricing与structuring、quantitative research和financial engineering。Advanced Machine Learning for Finance、Algorithmic Trading、Quantitative Investment Management、Hedge Fund Strategies、Modeling and Trading Derivatives等选修帮助学生形成方向性能力；Practitioners’ Seminar、career development课程和fieldwork进一步连接行业。
适合定量基础完整、能够承担随机过程、PDE、统计和编程强度，并有明确量化金融目标的申请人。SOP应具体说明学术准备、目标课程和职业方向；若提交GRE/GMAT，应理解其为strongly recommended而非硬性门槛。两学期与三学期路径需要在第一学期就根据STAT 5264→5265的先后关系和实习计划安排课程。
先修课程
The program primarily attracts applicants from quantitative fields such as mathematics, statistics, physics, economics, computer science or engineering. Preparation should support advanced work in probability, stochastic processes, partial differential equations, numerical methods, statistics and programming; prior finance work or internship experience is common but not stated as mandatory.
TOEFL

Not required: unofficial transcripts are used for application review and third-party evaluations are not required at that stage. Applicants educated outside the US who accept admission must later complete a course-by-course evaluation through an approved agency.
Writing Sample
No writing sample is required. Applicants submit one transcript per institution, a Statement of Academic Purpose, a Personal Statement, résumé/CV and three letters; at least two of the three recommendations must be academic. The program provides its own statement and résumé instructions.

Full-time students complete 30 credits in two or three semesters; part-time students must complete the degree within four years. Full-time students register for at least 12 credits in each of the first two semesters.
秋季截止日期
Fall 2027: early deadline January 5, 2027; final deadline April 8, 2027. Applicants still enrolled as undergraduates or expecting to complete their undergraduate degree after December 1, 2026 are strongly encouraged to use the early deadline.
