项目概览
MIT Art, Culture, and Technology 是 School of Architecture + Planning 内的 critical art practice and discourse 学术平台,强调艺术与文化、科学、技术、设计之间的复杂关系。
SMACT 是 ACT 的两年制 Science Master in Art, Culture and Technology,面向 artist-thinkers,强调严谨的批判性艺术实践、实践驱动的理论讨论、跨媒介 studio production 与公共呈现。

二、核心创作方向与作品训练路径
课程与方法主轴:艺术与文化与技术以SMACT135等内容组织专业训练,重点放在交叉学科问题所需的理论、方法和工具衔接上。
方向与选修路径:HASS Concentration in Art, Culture and Technology、Concentration Advisor: Nida Sinnokrot Four subjects are required from two groups of study, three from Group A and one from Group B.构成项目可识别的细分路径,学生后续选课、研究或实践任务通常会围绕这些模块展开。

课程结构与培养方式
SMACT 最低 residency 为两个 academic years,学生不注册 summer term;每位学生入学时由 ACT faculty advisor 指导学习计划。
学位要求至少 135 units 的研究生课程,不含 thesis;核心包括四个学期的 Art, Culture, and Technology Studio & Thesis Colloquium。
学生还需完成 21 units 的 ACT graduate restricted electives、18 units 支持个人研究方向的 electives,并在第四学期注册 thesis。
Studio & Thesis Colloquium 是 SMACT 学生的课程核心,要求参与班级会议、ACT Lecture Series 与其他 ACT 活动。
申请要求
SMACT 申请通过 MIT Architecture 招生系统进行,申请页面列出推荐信、成绩单、英语成绩、CV、statement、申请费和 portfolio 等材料。
Architecture 页面说明所有 Architecture 项目均不要求 GRE;ACT statement 限 500 words,需说明个人背景、生命经验、与 ACT 研究和创作内容的联系,以及职业发展和学习期待。
ACT portfolio 最大 10 页,需体现近期 creative work;合作项目应标明申请者承担的角色。
Architecture 招生时间线页面列出 2026 入学周期申请截止为 2026 年 1 月 7 日 11:59 p.m. EST,且不采用 rolling admissions。
